I had just finished watching Seasons 1 and 2 of The Wire. It was an intense series on HBO. This book matched the mayhem and murder from the first chapter. It was sex, drugs and intrigue from start to finish. I felt sorry for the judge Tiphani Fuller. She overcame long odds to obtain success and threw it away for the fast life. She was also incredibly stupid when it came to unprotected sex. The drug dealer, Scar Johnson, was notorious and could have been patterned after some real life gangsters. There were secret family ties involved along with ultimate betrayals. I couldn't put it down once I started to read it.

Awesome read. Great characters. Action packed

Wow! Family! Blood is always thicker than water, at least for some of us.

Wow every body hands are dirty the Mayor, the chief of police to the da. Tiphani I don't know what to say about her sleeping with two brothers she needs to be taking out or they need to take her is thinks Scar loves her he just using her. What Scar is doing to his brother is so wrong on all levels. Their is no honor among thieves everybody trying to keep their name the clear look at Rodriguez don't know who your friends are. I hope Derek come out on top.

Two brothers grew up in foster care but were separated. One grew up to be a cop and the other a drug dealer. They reunite as adults and form a partnership. Read to find out how they turn against each other. I really enjoyed this page turner and now on to book 2.
