I Loved It!Great story. I was a bit lost as to who the characters were at first but that cleared up quickly. I connected with Meena because she almost felt like an outcast.I was pleasantly surprised by how well this novella was written! I generally don't like how fast and cliche novella story lines develop, but Mandy Roth developed this nicely. "Guard turned lover" has been done before, but the twists and plot development in this novella kept me reading and wanting more! I love how they each deny the love they have for one another right up until the end.
Ooooh, I liked this one. I liked it a lot. And since it's part of a very large world, I have LOTS to look forward to when I dive in.Now, I'm not normally a fan of a hero making decisions for the good of the heroine. But. BUT. I kinda got where Bhaltair was coming from with his choice to stay away from Meena. I mean, the fact he could break bones and hurt her badly if he got a little too enthusiastic is a bit of a mood killer. But I also think he probably should have tried to explain things

The story maybe short but still intriguing enough and will get you hooked at once.. Bhalthair, Bhailthair, Bhaltair... All I can say is I want more of him..
