Ilustration As Books A Gift of Grace (Kauffman Amish Bakery #1)

Take a trip to Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, where you’ll meet the women of the Kauffman Amish Bakery in Lancaster County. As each woman’s story unfolds, you will share in her heartaches, trials, joys, dreams … and secrets. You’ll discover how the simplicity of the Amish lifestyle can clash with the “English” way of life—and the decisions and consequences that follow. Most importantly, you will be encouraged by the hope and faith of these women, and the importance they place on their families.

Rebecca Kauffman’s tranquil Old Order Amish life is transformed when she suddenly has custody of her two teenage nieces after her "English" sister and brother-in-law are killed in an automobile accident. Instant motherhood, after years of unsuccessful attempts to conceive a child of her own, is both a joy and a heartache. Rebecca struggles to give the teenage girls the guidance they need as well as fulfill her duties to Daniel as an Amish wife. Rebellious Jessica is resistant to Amish ways and constantly in trouble with the community. Younger sister Lindsay is caught in the middle, and the strain between Rebecca and Daniel mounts as Jessica’s rebellion escalates. Instead of the beautiful family life she dreamed of creating for her nieces, Rebecca feels as if her world is being torn apart by two different cultures, leaving her to question her place in the Amish community, her marriage, and her faith in God.

Judgment Of Books A Gift of Grace (Kauffman Amish Bakery #1)
Wow I loved this book! This author is just amazing. I liked that she included the two teen girls in the book so I could relate to those. :) It was a really sad-sweet and inspiring story. And I learned some things from it which is always good! I am still quoting"compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience" you will understand why after you read the book...which you, yes you whoever you are should totally read it!! Its wonderful

I recently read a lot of heavy books, the Jaycee Dugard memoir, another on teen suicide, etc. So I decided I needed a light, feel good book before hitting my next more serious book. I downloaded this to my Kindle a while ago when it was free. This did the trick, it was light, but I didn't really enjoy it.I hate to be overly critical since I only have a few minor things published, but the writing in this book is not great. The terms, "bit her lower lip" and crossed her arms over her chest" were

This was a free Kindle download. I confess I don't understand the current craze of Amish novels. Most of the conflicts tend to center around whether or not someone will remain in the community or choose the worldly life. This novel, the story of two orphaned girls sent to live with their Amish aunt, was more full of stereotypes than actual emotions. Older sister rebels, younger sister embraces the faith. Amish family members make ridiculous accusations and the local bishop makes veiled threats.

Ok this might be a bit of a bias review, but I just dont like Amish Romance books... this was just a huge MEH😂 I had a hard time making myself finish it...

A Gift of Grace by Amy ClipstonThis book is the first book in Amy Clipston's series, Kauffman Amish Bakery Series.I have been hearing about this series for quite a while and have heard only the most positive things so I thought it was about time I take a dive into the series myself.I have to admit, I was not disappointed! In A Gift of Grace, Rebecca Kauffman has been trying to be a mother for years, with no success. Perhaps God just does not have it in His plans for her, or so she thinks. But

I loved the book. This is the first Amy Clipston story that I've read. I have read other author's Amish stories and this one is not a disappointment. I love the characters. I was drawn into each of the character's lives and problems they were dealing with. I highly recommend the book.

Good story; easy read. I enjoyed following the lives of the characters and found myself wanting more as the book concluded (I believe it's part of a series). However, I found the epilogue lacking and disliked it's cliffhanger-esq ending.
