René Lodge Brabazon Raymond was born on 24th December 1906 in London, England, the son of Colonel Francis Raymond of the colonial Indian Army, a veterinary surgeon. His father intended his son to have a scientific career, was initially educated at King's School, Rochester, Kent. He left home at the age of 18 and became at different times a children's encyclopedia salesman, a salesman in a
Another superfast thriller from the master, I read it, almost, in a single sitting... Salute to the King!!!

Really not the best of James Hadley. A blatant beginning with motives revealed very early into the plot than you'd like, it leaves little for the mind to fathom on. A lack of mystery and suspense combined with an unappealing story makes it worse. I was bored out of my wits.
Its not worth reading, its a boring tale without any suspense at all.i cannot believe this was written by master of suspense.things move too slow, the beginning itself is too slow and does not arouse any interests at all.TOTALLY AVOIDABLE,WORST JAMES HADLEY CHASE NOVEL EVER.
James Hadley Chase's popularity as a writer is legendary in Africa, cutting across generations over the years. His thrillers continue to excite, with old titles treasured. Like in Believed Violent, where the sequence of deaths and eliminations is terrible. Ruthless powerful man, Herman Radnitz wants a code at all costs and when he wants something badly, human life means nothing to him, including hapless guards, hostesses, even allies. Doctor Forrester's invention must be grabbed and accessed!
One of his best thrillers. Well written. An action suspense masterpiece. don't believe other's low ratings. Mine is 4/5.
