Discuss Epithetical Books Shadows (Shadows #1)
The story is intriguing from a world that is unique and new. I believe it has potential to be great, but I really felt that the author's main character jumped from slave to greatness so quickly it was almost unbelievable. I felt the story leapt from one plot to the next too quickly, and that the author may be new at writing. Don't get me wrong, the story wasn't bad, and the female hero was ok, but incredibly sappy and cliche in places... I probably will pass on the next books.

This is a quick read with engaging characters. I found the world with its three races quite interesting. And the heroine is very likable. I found the book easy to read, and the voice of the heroine intelligent and self-aware.I did have to suspend a bit of disbelief as the heroine suddenly transforms from abused, yet willful near-slave to witty conversationalist and battle strategist. The change is not supported by any back-story or history, just her strong-willed and observant personality. And

This is one of the BEST super natural books I have ever had the pleasure of reading!! Shadows is a story about a young woman named Nexa who is a slave who isnt even considered a she but an it. This book deals with the issue of racism & how one girl overcomes it & rises to the top! Cheree Alsop wrote the characters, plot, world, & story so beautifully that it left me utterly speechless. It literally has everything, drama, action, fighting, romance, adventure, & suspense. It kept

I received Shadows for an honest review.I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. I don't know why; it's a simple tale, but the main character, Nexa, was very appealing and I became closely involved with her and wanted her to succeed. Nexa is a Duskie, one of the race of three humanoid types in her world. The Luminos are awake and powerful when the sun is up, the Nathos are awake and powerful at night, and the Duskies (hybrids of the two races) can be awake and strong at

Really enjoyed this book. A modern fairy tale complete with Kings and Queens, Princesses and Princes, castles and the damsel is not quite in distress. LOVE IT!

While it took me a few pages to get into the story, once I did, I was hooked. Nexa is a strong and interesting character, and it was easy to live inside her head for 250+ pages. I wasn't as fond of Axon, the prince, but he kinda grew on me ^_^I am fascinated by the world Alsop has built. There are Luminos and Nathos, people of the day and of the night, and then there are the Duskies. Where the Luminos are weak during the night and draw power and energy from the light and the sun, and the Nathos

wow.....I WANT THIS BOOK!!
