That's it. My last book read of 2016 and I've read all there is to read of this series till June. This one wasn't my favorite of the series though I still enjoyed it quite a bit. I have a problem. Once you introduce a baby into a series, I start to lose interest and think the author is running out of plot ideas and therefore falls on the "add a baby" storyline. At least there were other plot lines happening at the same time. I enjoyed the addition of the girl Gudrid.

In this volume we get to meet Halfdan the wealthy landowner and his son Sigurd as Thorfinn and his family reflect in his recent return. We also get to meet Gudrid who is betrothed to Sigurd but would rather sail with Leif Erikson rather then become a wife. She is an independent woman with the spirit to journey but being betrothed her dreams could not be realized. However at the moment of consummation she stabbed Sigurd with a dagger without thinking and fled into the night in hopes of boarding
This eighth omnibus of Makoto Yukimura's masterful Viking saga continues the changed narrative after the events in volume seven.Thorfinn and Einar has returned to Iceland with Leif's ship, but the dream of Vinland is just growing stronger. Consequently, Thorfinn needs to deal with Halfdan, one of Iceland's wealthiest men, whose son Sigurd is set to marry Gudrid, a relative of Leif. Gudrid, however, have other dreams and desires.Yakimura keeps developing his narrative, and his handling of the
I didnt know that ill finish it in one sitting, i even prepared my cute little bookmark coz i thought ill stop eventually, BUT OH MY GODDDD THAT WAS SOOOO GOOOD EVERYONE NEEDDDSS TO READD THIIIS MANGGAAAA!
Fantastic! This series just doesn't quit. The story is so fluid it is quickly picked up after waiting for the next volume to print. We have a new main character; a female who wants to be a sailor. Lief and Thor plan their mission to settle in Vinland but can't get anyone to invest the money. They are gifted Narwhal horns though and decide a trip, taking about two years, is needed to cash in on the horns thus financing their trip.A bit of battle in this volume but heavy on plot and character
