It is spring in Florida and Dr. Wren's Hoverpark of Wonder returns, bringing the world's most spectacular theme park to Tampa! Travis Pruitt and his twin sister Tara are on their 5th grade field trip to the floating island paradise filled with thrill rides and attractions. On the Vonderheist roller coaster, airships are poised along the edge of the park, appearing to drop over 2500 ft. to the surf below. The lazy river offers glass bottom views of the Gulf of Mexico and a 4D theatre propels parkers through the universe. The Hoverpark is fully interactive with lots of ways to entertain and play. There are scavenger hunts, keys to collect, puzzles to solve, gadgets to create, and the more experienced guests can play the elusive game master himself. But someone with a dark and mysterious secret is wandering through the park. The rides are breaking down and the Pruitts and their friends are pulled into the biggest puzzle of all!Rating Epithetical Books Dr. Wren's Incredible Hoverpark of Wonder

I won this thoroughly enjoyable book for young people as a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. Ms. Drummond has created a magical theme park in Florida that has replaced the Orlando attractions of the past after a disaster destroyed the park and killed many visitors. The Pruitt family were lucky to escape relatively unscathed, if you don't count their parents subsequent separation and Travis' recurring nightmares of falling from scaffolding into the flames consuming the ride he was on.Travis and hisI won this thoroughly enjoyable book for young people as a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book centered on the adventures of a group of kids having a great day at a science learning theme park and discovering some hidden mysteries/truths about the park and a possible intruder. I enjoyed this book so much because the characters were realistic smart kids, not the silly, completely superficial, airheads of so many other kid books....these kids have some brains and make good questions, theories, and solutions throughout the book. None of the characters
Shelly Drummond is is a folklorist and retired archaeologist living in Plant City, Florida with her Mom, daughter and a dog that looks like Toto. Her short stories have been published in Blood and Aphorisms, Caution!, and Broken Pencil. She still hates ticks.
I was really really intrigued by the book's description but after ten pages I just dropped it. The writing left a lot to be desired and really could have used a better editor as the work constantly shifted tenses and POV, along with other nuances. The thing that made me drop the book though, was the ten year old with the makeup drawer (what???) and the boy of the same age who talked like an adult (unironically). The dialog was just . . . tin. That said, if the writing became better I would
