I was not expecting much from Prophecy. Cheesy title. Characters named Valentine and Prophecy (come on, could they be any more cliched?). A plot that waffles on about destiny and forbidden love. A trashy cover.* Plus there's been at least 5734912 crap vampire romances published since Twilight - and a fair few before it besides. Vampires have gotten samey.So I figured this would probably be a DNF and I could clear the spot in my (virtual) library. But I have to give it to Heaton. She writes well.hmmm disappointing and unfulfilled is how I felt upon finishing Prophecy. The ending was poor, the plot was jumpy and the characters were weak and this is without the grammatical errors which just bug me.
Awesome readLove the lore and the story. A series that will have any vampire lover lose sleep over. Kinda a slower start for me but the story picks up quickly. I absolutely love the complexity of Valentine and Prophecy's characters and how they grow throughout the story.
I really wanted to rate this book higher, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I really enjoyed the story (thank everything for VAMPIRES THAT ARE ACTUALLY VAMPIRES), but I had some difficulty reading due to some grammatical strangeness. Primarily it was Valentine using the word "shall" somewhere in the neighborhood of, oh I don't know, constantly? Yeah, I'm going to go with constantly. Replacing every third word with shall does not make a character sound more "vampire-y" it makes him sound
The real reason I bought this book was because it was less than a pound and incredibly long.Now, while I did enjoy reading the book, it's just not a series which I would persue or a book that I would re-read. Overall, I'm afraid to say that it was simply 'alright'.
