Too much fandom for my taste.
Typically a weekend-read with high-over principles of innovation. Still a nice read because of the, often obvious-but-good-to-remind statements. A bit of essence:- Innovation cannot occur in the absence of passion.- Passion the emotional fuel that drives your vision.- But passion is meaningless without a vision.- Remind to follow your innate ability.- Intrapreneurship.- Make people fall in love with your company and products.- Creativity is just connecting things.- Innovation takes confidence,
This was a helpful book for what I was looking for. Not a biography of Jobs, but a focus on his business practices and what innovation looks like. Definitely a good read for would-be managers and entrepreneurs.
I'm inspired. I am an innovative, big picture thinker who is most interested and excited when I am figuring out the next great thing in my field. As a member of middle management, I am often viewed suspiciously for proposing ideas that are scary or threatening. I don't have the power that Steve Jobs had to just tell people to make it happen, so it's a bit tougher to navigate.
